Mi lengua, mi herencia
Una voz que crece con el tiempo… y ahora inspira a otros.
Hay historias que se construyen paso a paso, con los años, la confianza y el cariño. Esta comienza cuando Sofia tenía solo 4 años, dando sus primeros pasos en el español como lengua de herencia. Con el tiempo, he tenido el privilegio de verla crecer, evolucionar y encontrar su propia voz.
Hoy, con 17 años, esa voz sigue creciendo—y tiene sus raíces en un proyecto muy especial que creó con tan solo 15: un podcast nacido desde cero, con identidad, sensibilidad y una mirada clara hacia su generación.
Este proyecto no surge por casualidad. Nace de años compartidos, de aprendizajes, conversaciones y vínculos que van mucho más allá del aula. Tanto Lilian, su hermana pequeña, como Sofia y mi hijo construyeron una amistad muy bonita, y nuestras familias también. Aquí en Austria, su familia forma parte de la mía.
Lilian, más tímida para hablar, compuso la melodía del podcast, aportando aún más alma a este proyecto. Desde esa cercanía fue desde donde le propuse la idea de crear su propio podcast. Y Sofía lo hizo completamente suyo. Desarrolló el concepto, creó los contenidos y dio vida a los 12 episodios junto a sus invitadas, construyendo un espacio auténtico, fresco y necesario.
La temática es clara y poderosa: una joven bilingüe creando contenido para otros jóvenes bilingües. Un puente entre culturas, identidades y experiencias que muchas veces no encuentran su lugar en los formatos tradicionales.
Mi papel fue acompañar en la parte técnica y estar presente cuando hacía falta, pero sobre todo confiar. Porque cuando hay talento, lo importante es abrir caminos y dejar que brillen.

A voice that grows over time… and now inspires others.
Some stories are built step by step, through the years, with trust and care. This one began when Sofía was just 4 years old, taking her first steps in Spanish as a heritage language. Over time, I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow, evolve, and find her own voice.
Today, at 17, that voice continues to grow—and it has its roots in a very special project she created at just 15: a podcast built from the ground up, with identity, sensitivity, and a clear vision for her generation.
This project didn’t happen by chance. It was born from years of shared experiences, learning, conversations, and connections that go far beyond the classroom. Lilian, her younger sister, Sofía, and my son built a beautiful friendship, and so did our families. Here in Austria, their family has become part of mine.
Lilian, who is a bit more shy when it comes to speaking, composed the melody for the podcast, adding even more soul to the project.
It was from this closeness that I suggested the idea of creating her own podcast. And Sofía truly made it her own. She developed the concept, created the content, and brought all 12 episodes to life alongside her guests, building a space that feels authentic, fresh, and necessary.
The theme is clear and powerful: a bilingual young person creating content for other bilingual young people. A bridge between cultures, identities, and experiences that often don’t find their place in traditional formats.
My role was to support the technical side and to be there when needed—but above all, to trust.’Because when there is talent, what matters most is opening doors and letting it shine.
